Electricity Production
Turkey is one of the prominent countries in the world with a high geothermal energy potential. Turkey is the lead country in Europe in geothermal power generation. Intensified work is observed over the past few years within Büyük Menderes Graben, where SDS Energy also holds licenses. The introduction of Geothermal Law and other relevant legislation brought new regulations and incentives to the sector and this encouraged the companies for further investments in the region.Work is in progress all over the world relating to a new technology defined as EGS (Enhanced Geothermal Systems) in parallel to conventional geothermal. This technology is applied in areas with certain appropriate geological formations where a natural reservoir does not exist.
Research on the subject is being performed by SDS Energy in cooperation with universities and academic institutions.
